Hardy Mums - Chrysanthemums Tea

Today I welcome you with the yellow blossom of Mum/Chrysanthemum flowers. Mums need sufficient moisture as they grow during the hot summer. They multiply rather quickly and can be treated as perennials. The roots continue to growth even after the flowers have gone dormant. Pinching mums or removing the tips of new growth will stimulate the mums to send out side-shoots and become bushy plants with more blooms. Cut back the stems and allow mum plants to go dormant over the winter, they will return next spring.

Hope y'all have a great week!

The chrysanthemum teas can help to prevent/ treat mild heatstroke, cleanse and restore balance in the body.

  3. Stephanie and Muggle,

Chrysanthemum tea is good for health; usually I don't add sugar in hot/ice tea, I like the pure taste from the tea leaves. Sometimes, I add a few drop of honey into the tea to smooth the throat and prevent cold. Enjoy a new week!

  4. I only take Chrysanthemums Tea sold in cans or packets occasionally . Lovely drink I agree.. Will the plant grow in our climate here... hmmm.. propagate through cuttings?

  5. Mums for sure can take over but they are most welcome with their cheery blooms. Especially yellow.

  6. Bangchik - Yes, Chrysanthemums will grow in your climate, they need loose soil and lots of water.

Tina - I don't mind they take over with some blooms, so that I don't have to put mulch in that area.

  7. I love chrysanthemum tea! While learning it in acupuncture school it's pinyin name is Ju Hua. If you mix the ju hua with goji berries it's a good tea to help with eye problems or an oncoming cold. It's also really pretty together. Thanks for the post!
