Blueberries ~ 10 minutes No-Bake Cheesecake

I'm harvesting the last crop of blueberries, and use it to make quick and easy no-bake cheesecake from Gina's Weight Watcher Recipes
Servings: 8 • Size: 1 piece • Time: 10 minutes • Calories: 239 • Points: 5.25 ww points

• 8 oz Fat Free Cool Whip
• 8 oz 1/3 less fat Philadelphia Cream Cheese
• 9 inch reduced fat Graham Cracker Crust
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 1 tsp lemon juice
• Decorate the top with blueberries and strawberries.

Bluecrop, Northland and Patio Blueberries

It has been 2 months since I plant the Bluecrop, Northland and Patio blueberries (see here). How are those three blue berries doing now? Seems like some of them start to change color.

I have been planting blueberry for the past few years; just never get any fruit until this year. When I checkout two blueberries early this spring at a local nursery, a cashier nicely reminded me to get two different types so that it will cross pollinate and produce better quality fruits.

The lesson learned is never use cheap top soil like last time, the berries never grow well. This spring, I add some pebbles into the hole, and plant the blueberries using good quality garden soil. Blueberries like sunny location and well-drained and sandy loam soils. I guess those are the key of my berry success this spring. Now it is time to figure out when to harvest those blueberries :-)

Berries & Deer Resistant Plants

I bought 4 new berries for my garden:
1) Brazos Blackberry (Rubus Ursinus 'Brazos')
- Flowers early spring, easily planted in hedgerows, large clusters of edible fruit that ripens in late spring.
2) Bluecrop Blueberry (Vaccinium Corymbosum 'Bluecrop'
- Dceiduous, very productive, dependable shrub with large, firm bright blue berries.
3) Northland Blueberry (Vaccinium x 'Northland')
- Deciduous, ideal for fresh eating, bears large, light blue berries with abundant white flowers.
4) Latham Red Raspberry (Rubus Idaeus 'Latham')
- This type of raspberry is disease-resistant and productive, deciduous, flavorful, aromatic, good texture, berries ripen in late June.
