Butter Squash

The yellow squash is completely gone, this week we have a new butter squash with unique shape. It is the second generation growing off the seeds from grocery store fresh produce, a good way to recycle.

  1. VueJardin, I have seen this squash selling here. The seeds are at the bottom. I have not try it though. Do you cook this kind of squash differently? Is this squash more 'butter' taste than the rest?

  2. I am thinking I planted some of this. For some reason I can't remember but I see it growing. Looks good!

  3. Steph and Tina - I think the gravity effect causing the seeds to stay at the bottom, it is like aging ;) I use it to cook some soup before, it tastes like pumpkin. It you can't remember but see it growing, that means this butter squash is very easy to grow.
